Note: the title is only tentative...until/if I can up a better title. Ideas welcomed!
This is my submission for the WWF contest held by
, theme FIRE!
The idea: Ever looked at a fire? The way it curls, the way it just flows? Sometimes when I look at a flame, it always seem like an orange serpent moving about...hence the idea for this piece. The girl accidently knocks over the candle and watches as the serpents ignites the table...
Like with the Queen of Blades contest, this idea went through TONS of modifications...I went through god knows how many "concepts"...as a matter of fact, I actually dumped my first 4 ideas...but yeah, I'm pretty content with this one.
Medium: Colored Pencils on 11x17 inch Charcoal Paper (very, very bad idea...charcoal paper is designed for charcoal and REALLY doesn't work well with colored pencils at all...wished I had known that ahead of time, though)
Time: 7 hours
(I'll probably wind up doing a pure digital version later on. I just wanted to do a pure traditional one first because I don't think the Pencil Club allow digital modifications to it)...

Nice style very texturous! The fire snakes look very cool but I love how their glow relects in the girls skin tone and eyes. Good luck in the contest!
